LG has announced its newest contribution to the cell phone market. The Renoir (KC910) is a touchscreen phone that sports something yet to be seen on cell phones like it. LG’s primary focus is its use of an 8 megapixel camera and the software that goes with it. We won’t get into the phone side because it’ll be all hearsay, but the camera’s features are truly impressive. It’ll feature Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics, a Xenon flash, auto and manual focus, sensitivity up to ISO 1600 and geo tagging will be a snap. 3G HSDPA support, [...]

Underwater photography can be an expensive hobby, and hiring someone to film your dives can also be rather pricey. Waterproof cameras are far more expensive than comparable dry models, and typical waterproof housings are expensive, ugly, and often times lacking function and design. The Silverfish has taken a stab at solving this problem, by releasing a universal camera housing that fits hundreds of different camcorders. It’s been out for a couple of years, but no other housing compares. The camcorder [...]

We have been known to appreciate fine architecture here at ButteryBlend. When we are fortunate enough to travel to new places, of course we’ll visit architectural sites of new and old. The problem arises when we aren’t fortunate enough to see architecture in person. Bathroom books, complete with pictures and history really don’t cut it. They’ll give you an idea of what the buildings look like but 2D pictures can’t offer the impact seeing beautiful architecture can offer. Anton Radevsky and David Sokol present a great alternative. The Modern [...]

Just yesterday, Casio introduced the new high speed Exilim digital camera which captures pictures faster than any SLR camera. The Exilim EX-FH20 is capable of ultra high-speed burst shooting at 40 fps and can record high speed HD movies at up to 1,000 fps. That’s right folks, 40 pictures in one second. This will help photographers catch every picture perfect moment and can even capture motion the human eye cannot ordinarily perceive. But it’s not just the shutter speed that sets the EX-FH20 apart. For zooming in on objects far away, it is equipped with a 26 mm-equivalent[...]

Until today, I hadn’t wondered where the digital camera market will be in the years to come. I mean, other than touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and dual lens technologies, where is digital camera technology heading? The “LUPE” digital camera concept by Seoghwan Choi is a far departure from the designs and technologies we have today. The camera is like a magnifying glass in that the screen is semi-transparent and it reveals what is directly beneath the lens(’s) in a macro fashion. The front of the camera uses a series of lenses which communicate with[...]

Kodak has introduced the newest addition to its v-series line-up, the v705. Unlike it’s v-series cyclops brethren the v705 has got something extra to give us our fix to fill our shiny, new widescreen. The product of multi-lens cameras seem unexplored and we find ourselves asking why it’s taken so long for a consumer model to finally emerge. It has 7.1 megapixels and of course the capability to take pictures like the the ones taken above. It’s msrp right now is $250 which seems legit considering it is similarly priced to comparble models with just one[...]
