The worlds first total liquid submersion total computer has arrived, the Hardcore Computer “Reactor.” What exactly does that mean, and how does it differ from traditional liquid cooled computers? Liquid submersion computers allow all of the hardware to be completely submerged in a cool liquid, where liquid cooled allows liquids to pass through certain areas, confined by tubes . Total liquid submersion allows sustainable overachievement, no instability and never, ever any overheating. The cooling capabilities are unmatched- even highly overclocked parts keep operating due to the safe, cool temperatures. The core coolant absorbs 10x more [...]

If Mac won’t do it, someone else will. During the question and answer phase of the Macbook release event, Steve Jobs was asked if they plan on integrating Blu-Ray drives into Macs. He described Blu-Ray as “a bag of hurt,” with no plans to unite Blu-Ray and Mac anytime soon. Now, Amex Digital has capitalized on this opportunity and made a portable Blu-Ray drive for Macs. It’s glossy, curvy, slim, and can burn Blu-Ray BD-RE / -R (single-layer) discs at 2x and DVDs at 4x - 8x depending on the type. For $289 bucks [...]

With news of the Microsoft Surface SDK being released, we are very excited about interactive multi-touch tables. Atracsys released their version, called the atracTable, which is a slightly different take on interactive tables. When an object is placed on the atracTable, it reacts immediately and creates a special ambiance around the object. Depending on the object, a different menu-based interface appears which can be controlled using intuitive movements of one or more fingers. Consider this scenario: you place a cell phone on the table, and a circular menu “ring” pops up around the phone. You might want to listen to a song on your phone so you select the music icon. A windows media player-esque visualizer comes up and plays a song of your choice. While the music is playing you click messages to read and respond [...]

Today, Mac just announced some major changes to their lineup of notebooks. They are available for purchase online today and will be hitting the shelves tomorrow. In this post, we will focus on the Macbook Pro. See below for the Macbook. So lets get our hands dirty.
Rumors have been spreading across the blogosphere about the “Brick,” or solid piece of aluminum which will be cut into a laptop. The rumors were correct; Apple has taken a solid piece of aluminum and cut it down to one solid shell which holds the inner components of the computer. It is lightweight, solid, and, very good looking. The display is a 15” LED backlit display that is encased with a sleek black frame, which includes a built in iSight and mic. The keyboard is backlit and includes a feature that is new the notebook industry- the multi-touch glass trackpad. Similar to the iPhone, the trackpad has a glass finish and uses not two, not three, but four finger gestures, as compared to the iPhone’s two finger gestures. It also serves as a button that you can depress to click on things. Also included is a slot loading Superdrive and a wide array of ports (including their new Mini Display Port), The exterior looks beauitufl, its extremely thin and light, and in my opinion, is the best looking Mac ever.
Now on to the innards. Inside the new MacBook Pro is the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at speeds up to 2.8GHz. It’s based on groundbreaking 45-nm process technology and advanced Core microarchitecture. But the coolest thing Mac did is put two video cards in the Macbook Pro. Out of the box, it runs the integrated NVDIA GeForce 9400M processor, which provides plenty of performance for everyday use, but when using graphics programs or games, switch to turbocharged mode which uses the high tech NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT. [...]
